Effective Negotiations

Effective Negotiations is a one-day role-playing seminar designed to introduce labor negotiation concepts and educate negotiation committee members about the strategy, roles, timetable and purposes of labor negotiations.

The course focuses on the roles of negotiators and committee members; the importance of accurately recording negotiation events; how to read body language; how to maintain solidarity and look for division among management; how to draft airtight contract language and when to move toward a final agreement.

Role-playing scenarios pit management against labor in a variety of situations designed to highlight the internal and external conflicts and dilemmas inherent in labor negotiations. The Course includes a guide to labor negotiations developed by the firm. This one-day course is intended for negotiators of all experience levels.
